So this is just me ranting about Goodreads. It's nothing that Goodreads did it's specifically about the person who rated it two stars but never even read it. How do I know they didn't read it? Sales did not increase, they were not a winner of the giveaway, and they rated it the day they added it. Plus, when you click on their name they have rated over 21000 books with an average rating of 1.98. That tells me their sole purpose is to diminish the rating value of books.
Now that said if you really think my book is only worth 2 stars okay, that's your right as a reader. But don't go around rating books low just because you can. Have a reason to back it up. If I rate a book low, and I have, it's because I read it, genuinely didn't enjoy it' and wrote a review to back up my opinion. I'm not going to leave the author hanging. Any review, even a bad one, can help an author get better. But the reader has to be willing to let the author know why they thought that, otherwise what's the point of the rating system?
Okay, rant over. But seriously don't you guys agree?
